Homework Help Resources

Math and Science tend to be two of the most challenging subjects in the IB world.  To help our students succeed, the DMHS Site Council has again approved after school sessions for IB Science.  Please encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity on an on-going basis, rather than right before testing.

IB Biology Study Group

Day:  Tuesdays, except for once a month when it is on a Wednesday

Time:  2:30 to 3:30 pm

Teacher:  Dr. Bogatz

IB Chem Lab

Day:  Thursdays

Time:  2:30 to 3:30 pm

Teacher:  Ms. Drewnowski

Format:  The students come in to work on homework or labs together and ask the teachers for help when they hit a road block.  Other students come in for help and more in-depth explanations on what was covered in class.  The teachers are flexible and adapt to what the students need on a particular day.

This is open to juniors and seniors in Chem HL, Bio HL, and Bio SL.  The teachers also allow the pre-Diploma sophomores from Honors Chem and Bio to attend.

Tutoring available

There are student tutors available if your student wants or needs additional help in any subject.  The students who sign up to be tutors must have completed the course and earned a grade of B or better.  The rate is $10/hour or community service hours.  Many students in the IB program will choose community service for CAS hours.   Please contact the counseling office for further information.
